Fletcher - Sign report from the 49er Worlds, Perth
So the Worlds went awfully for us, it was our worst regatta ever just edging out the last worlds we did in Australia a few years ago. Right not we are both feeling sorry for ourselves but that’s not going to get us anywhere, we have already sat down with coach Paul to try to start to understand what went wrong. It has been extremely hard on us this week, by far the most testing time of our

First week back in 49er
Great to get back on the water in the boat we love!! And after the time off and some talking we had a few new dynamics to test out. A bit rusty in the 20kts plus we had to contend with!! but it came back pretty quick and a few days in it was starting to a feel a bit more natural.
We got straight into a bit of racing at the weekend with a National Ranker

Fireball Worlds Report from Remy Thuillier
Fireball Team Thuillier-Berthelot – Worlds Ireland We arrived in Sligo on June 16th evening, after thirty hours of travel (half the ferry from Cherbourg to Rosslare). We got a little scared when French customs has kindly pointed out to one of us that his ID was expired for 3 years and it might be repressing illico when arriving by ferry . Fortunately everything went well on arrival: the Irish

We (myself and Pete) started the six week period in Tavira, Portugal for our 2011 European Championships. We had 4 days training prior to the event in steady 15knot sea breezes and with us going well and regularly being at the front of the

Team Fletcher-Sign - European Champions 2011
We are lucky in the 49er class in that most years we always get to go to some great locations for our Worlds and Europeans. This year was no change, the 2011 49er European Championships were held in Helsinki, Finland. The only problem being the long drive out there!Alain, Pinky and I all drove out with the team van, 2x 49ers and 1 RYA rib, which took us 3 days to get from Southampton to

49er Team Fletcher-Sign - Bearly Legal
So since the Sail for Gold we only had a few days to relax and sort ourselves out before we were back down to Weymouth to get our new boat ready. We ordered the boat from Mackay boats (New Zealand) in December but by the time they had built it in April and then sent it in a container it has only just arrived, perfect timing for the Europeans…
After the Sail for Gold we had to re-plan the

49er Team Fletcher-Sign - Sail for Gold
We had high hopes going into the 2011 edition of the Sail for Gold regatta and a key regatta in the Olympic selection. After a solid start to the season we knew what we needed to do but at the end of the day it all fell apart on the second day of the regatta.
The first day was a tough start, we had 2 races in 2-4 knots patchy shifty conditions. We had 2 ok races with a 14,10 but with

Princess Sofia 2011, Not the perfect event for us, but we stuck to our goals and came away with 10th... Bit disappointing but you can only do your best. But we have had a look at how we were setting up, and its has

Pink-Peacock - pre regatta update
We have put in a good winter of training and know we have made some good improvements, now it’s time to make it count and put all the practise into performance! And it being so tight in the British fleet there are many people that can do it, it’s just down to who does it on the week.
Bit of time off now, to get fresh pre the regatta and come back ready to race!
We have now finished our winter program in Cadiz, it has been a great winter training venue. The only problem is the Spanish Tax, it’s not a normal type of tax you get in the UK but more of a ‘pikey’ tax. Basically expect to get stuff stolen, here is a list of the things stolen over the 5 camps; Iphone, 2 trolley wheels, a lot of tie down rope, Longboard, pump and finally some old sailing
