Kims death when he was still so young was a profound shock and it has taken all of us a while to recover, explains Liz Adams. But we all feel his legacy will be to build on the hard work which got us through the tough times since 2008, building a brand and business internationally respected for its quality and performance. We are in the process of gaining the widely recognised ISO9001 accreditation for Quality Management to help us gain a larger market share. We are continuing to develop new products for our traditional racing dinghy market with the help of feedback from our sponsored sailors, many of whom are members of the British Sailing Team, as well as for new markets in commercial marine and other industrial markets both in the UK and worldwide. A prime example of our ability to innovate is the new award winning Keyball trapeze system designed, developed and produced in-house. Our order book is buoyant and our main aim is to continue to provide excellent customer service.

Founded in 1958, the company only started selling under its own brand 50 years later in 2008, in the face of a global recession. Cousins Kim Allen and Liz Adams, son and daughter of founding brothers Glenn and Tony, separated from an exclusive supply agreement to sell its products to the yachting trade, adding sales and marketing functions and investing in plant and machinery. The company now has the latest CAD, CAM and 3D printing technology to enable rapid prototyping along with an ethos of lean manufacturing.
