18ft Skiff - Team Project latest update

Andy Budgen reports on the performance of their Allen hardware during the JJ World Championships in Sydney Australia.

The Allen A2160 60mm switchable ratchet blocks have proved to be strong and hard-wearing with great holding power - They're perfect for those tight 3-sail reaches in the 18.

The 30mm dynamic is a great running, all round block. We use these everywhere on 'The Project' and they managed the full load of the main and jib sheet with ease.

For the ultimate spinnaker halyard and tack-line security, we use the Allen A..76 cam cleat.

It's always hard to find a suitable mast head block which is able to withstand the dynamic loads produced by a jumping 18 - Allen's A4379 25mm High Tension block have proved to be flawless on both the #1 and #2 rigs.

Thanks to Allen we didn't have a breakage throughout the JJ. The range of hardware we used, from the smallest 'p' clips right up to the 60mm switchable rachet blocks was exceptional - Thanks Allen!
