The Snipe dinghy is a two-person, one-design racing sailboat that has existed since 1931. It was designed by William F. Crosby and is known for its versatility and popularity in competitive sailing. The Snipe is 15 feet 6 inches (4.72 meters) long and has a beam (width) of 5 feet (1.52 meters). It has a simple rig with a mainsail and a jib but no spinnaker.
The Snipe class is known for tactical racing, where strategy, boat handling, and understanding wind conditions are more important than pure speed. It’s an international class with fleets around the world and has been particularly popular in the U.S., Europe, and South America.
The boat is stable and well-suited for sailors of different skill levels, making it a favourite for both competitive racing and casual sailing.
We are thrilled to announce our latest product update – the Pro-Ratchet 40, a high-performance 40mm ratchet block featuring an all-new aluminium sheave which provides exceptional grip and control like never before.
The New Pro-Ratchet 40 is our first ratchet block to feature an aluminium sheave which has been designed to offer additional grip on the rope, allowing for greater control of your sheets in all conditions. So, whether trimming the spinnaker sheet in a gust or fine-tuning your jib, the Pro-Ratchet 40 is built to perform.
But this isn’t just about grip – it’s about giving you confidence on the water. The anodised aluminium sheave is lightweight yet incredibly strong, ensuring you have a product you can rely on to give you long-lasting performance time and time again. With its sleek, compact design, the Pro-Ratchet 40 is ideal for sailors who demand the best from their gear.
We’ve also incorporated a user-friendly on/off switch for the ratchet mechanism, so you can quickly adjust to changing conditions without missing a beat, and more importantly, without removing your gloves or needing a tool. The switch can be used even when under load. So, no need to dump the sheets if you want to change the feel of your line.
With this new product, we continue our commitment to providing sailors with innovative solutions that enhance their experience on the water. We’re excited to see how the new Pro-Ratchet 40 will help you sail smarter, faster, and with more control than ever before.
