Ever wanted to easily attach one of our Tii-on blocks via a continuous spliced loop? Well, now you can with the new Tii-Lock-40.
Tii-Lock-40 is a small T shaped plastic moulding which fits perfectly into the central hole of our 40mm Tii-on Block. It allows for a continuous spliced loop to be locked into place, with no chance of it shaking free.
The new concept was developed to give a quick, easy and strong option for attaching the A2040Tii block. The Tii-Lock-40 also makes replacing the blocks on the RS Aero boom really straightforward.
All of our Tii-on blocks are available with a Tii-shackle – a loop of Dyneema which is through spliced at one end and diamond knotted at the other.
However, it’s important that you pair the Tii-shackle and Tii-on block correctly. Otherwise, the block could fail.
It can sometimes be a bit fiddly to get the Tii-shackle around and through the holes of a Tii-on block, so we recommend using a piece of kite line or whipping twine to help pull it through.
37 boats made the trip to Weymouth for the fifth and final GP of the year. It was set to be a wonderful weekend of racing with a cracking forecast. Saturday opened with a bang as the fleet were greeted with 25-knot averages and some gusts well into the 30s.
Race officer Ian Bullock made the brilliant decision to launch on time and soon the first race was away. GBR2903 Freddie Westwell and Freddie Lonsdale blasted off the committee boat end like a rocket and soon rolled the whole fleet to take a commanding lead which they held to the finish. Meanwhile, in their dust, a tight battle played out for second, eventually won by GBR2736 Charlie Gran and Sam Jones with GBR12 Ben Mueller and Sam Webb. James and Noah should have earned bonus points for their brilliant wipeout at the end of race 1.
Back in 2021 Team Allen sailors Dylan Fletcher and Stuart Bithell took the win in possibly one of the closest ever finishes in 49er Olympic history. The pair snuck in front of the Germans in a photo finish. The result was an Olympic Gold Medal.
Dylan joined us on our stand at the RYA Dinghy and Watersports Show to show us his medal, share his thoughts of that nail-biting finish and inspire the next generation of young sailors who happened to be passing by! We took a few moments of his time to have a chat about which products he has been using on his 49er and Moth, as well as what his plans are for the next Olympic cycle.
